One day my son Andrew was being a bit goofy in the back seat of the car, and doing my best to be a safe and responsible adult I firmly admonished him to “stop being a goof.” Silence and peace followed… for a little while… until I heard from the back… “Hey dad! Don’t be a GOOF! Be a SLUG!” No one really knows what it means but it is a heck of a lot of fun to sing… even in the car…
:o)
p.s. I just went hiking with Andrew to celebrate his THIRTIETH BIRTHDAY! Yikes this time thing is ripping past… the lesson is to appreciate your kids (or grandkids) right now. They are PERFECT.

Song #121 | Februray 1989 | CD: New Songs/Ancient Stories
Refrain:
Don’t Be A Goof. Be A Slug.
And when you drink milk do not glug
Glug! Glug!
When you sing a song, do not sing it too looooong!
Or folks will politely move on
Don’t be a cross crocodile
Or if you are do it with style
And when you smile, make it last for a while
Don’t be a cross crocodile
Refrain:
Don’t be a bonky balonk
Squid diddly zinky honk honk
Honk, honk, honk
Giga bah loo big air gronky za zoo
Don’t be a bonky balonk
