While this song was a light hearted attempt at exploring the nature of “married love” and the stuff in our primary relationships that we have to “put up with” in order to get along… it’s ultimately really about a much higher kind of love… with a few changes I could sing this song at Unity and not only get a good healthy laugh, but inspire tolerance and appreciation of our differences… hmmm…. maybe this should be on the list for next sunday…. (slightly modified of course)… enjoy!

Unconditional Love
Song #188 | 6/10/1993 | CD: tbd
Refrain:
Unconditional love
Unconditional love
Unconditional love
You’ve got my unconditional love
You’ve got my unconditional love
Even if you are politically incorrect
Unconditional love
Even if you belong to some New Age sect
Unconditional love
Even if you never finished elementary school
Unconditional love
Even if you borrow and don’t return my tolls
Refrain:
Even if you leave the cap off of the toothpaste
Unconditional love
Even if you put that weird goop on your face
Unconditional love
Ever if you hired that private eye to follow me
Unconditional love
When I was just trying to plan your surprise party!
Unconditional love
Bridge:
No matter what you’ve thought.
No matter what you’ve done
No matter what you failed to do or how far you’ve run
No matter what you say or what you believe
No matter if you stay or if you decide to leave…
Refrain:
I love you even though you hated that sweet bungalow
Unconditional love
It was too small and too close to the road and you told me so
Unconditional love
I love you even though you liked that condominium
Unconditional love
Remember the one that looked like cubic zirconium?
