568 The Colors That I See

The Colors That I See

Audio:

Lyrics:
The Colors That I See
Song #568 | Spring 2019

Oh if I could only sing to you the colors that I see
A crisp and clenching yellow and a fisted burgundy
A shadowed summer across a corporation grey
Oh if I could only sing to you the colors that I see today…

There’s a thread that runs through it all
Like an ad on a subway wall
There’s a thread that runs through it all
Like a poem on a bathroom stall
There’s a thread that runs through it all
Like the weave on a widow’s shawl
There’s a thread that runs through it all…

Oh if I could only sing to you the colors that I see
A crisp and clenching yellow and a fisted burgundy
A shadowed summer across a corporation grey
Oh if I could only sing to you the colors that I see today…

What if you Find what you’re looking for…
What if you find what you’re looking for…
What if you find what you’re looking for…
In the simplest of daily chores?
What if you find what you’re looking for…
As you glance through an open door?
What if you find what you’re looking for…
and it changes who you were  before?
What if you find what you’re looking for…
And it causes your heart to soar?
What if you find what you’re looking for…
What if you find what you’re looking for…
what if you find what what you’re looking for?

Oh if I could only sing to you the colors that I see
A crisp and clenching yellow and a fisted burgundy
A shadowed summer across a corporation grey
Oh if I could only sing to you the colors that I see today…

====================================

THE IDEA MINE!
NOTES AND BRAINSTORMS:

Look at yourself in the eyes deep in the mirror
Look at yourself look at the light
Your death is getting nearer
What if it’s not the end but the end of this
Pattern, this adventure, this journey…?

Stop looking behind you, look ahead
Imagine what it is you want to have done
Before you are dead…

Take death as your advisor
Learn from that worthy adversary
That we all face
No one is immune from it
Welcome to the human race
Welcome to earth look around at this place
Nobody gets out of here alive
And over the centuries minds have been lit on fire
Leonarda davince michalangelo vincent van gogh
..etc…

And on and on the list goes on and those are just the people
We remember.
Why do we remember them?
They made a difference in the world in their lifetime
….

Some said they were lucky. others said they were obsessed…

I am the one who interprets the world.
I have a choice…

Find what you’re looking for
Find what you’re looking for…
Find what you’re looking for…

refrain:

Other ideas:

A Roman taxi driver’s hands massaging the wheel of his spotless Lancia like an F1 race car negotiating the turns at Monza
The squeal of tires as a Fiat 128 sedan is driven Italian style down switchbacks from the hills to the Adriatic coastline. The sun rising. A dog barks.
Two pretty young nurses talking about what they were going to do that night as they waited for the bus after their shift.

Your breath is the surface of your mind
Your skin is the surface of your mind
Your eyes are the windows of infinity
Eternity. Rising. Falling. Rising Falling.
Seasons shift.

There’s a thread that runs through everything…

There’s a wave we all surf…
In the froth of the rising firth
The moment of each new birth
Awake alive upon this new earth

Wake up! All we’ve got is this one small earth…

What’s the story really about?
What’s the story really about?

What’s the thread that runs through it?
What makes you want to renew it?
Who are you really & what are you doing here?
Orpheus returns to the light of life…

Life is the antagonist…
Conflict, war, greed thrives here…
Dirtbag tactics thrive here…

Lightworkers are here to transmute the negative energy
So love can begin to thrive….
It’s not here on a grand scale…

We keep dumping shit in the ocean and ruining shit…

What if everything you were taught to believe about the world is wrong?
Jesus ain’t coming to save your ass!
You’re not getting out here that easy. You’re coming right back.
You’ll be born into shit so you’ll wake the fuck up…

But if you hate the hater you’re no different than the hater.

Mark, this song and message really hit home for me today. You have put a grown man in tears. Thank You for what you do. Sometimes I think you sound kind of cheesy, and then others, I think you are a genius, and I’m beginning to realize that you actually care about helping people. So hard to “get out of your own way” sometimes…thanks for the reminder.

For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love…

Dear Mark, THANK YOU for sending *Spark & Flame*!!!! This CD certainly is a compilation of Conscious Love Songs! As I listen I am transported to memory after memory past, present and future, fulfilled and unfulfilled. I was flooded with many different emotions. I cried, laughed, held my breath and also breathed deep heart-centered breaths of connection to the Divine. I feel joy, grief, sadness, compassion, love, awe, freedom, kindness, gratitude and appreciation. For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love, releasing, acceptance for what was, what is and who I am. Knowing that I am enough and that I am Divinely Loved.

J

Been singing the chorus since the first day I heard it…

I sh*t you not when I say I’ve been singing the chorus to Honest Rock since the first day I heard it. I sing this every single day. Many times a day. Seriously. It’s like a mantra to me. It soothes me:-)
