About this song: (lyrics below)
This is one of those songs that I kind of forgot about. I was never quite sure what it was really about… Revisiting it though I got the clear message that it was a deep soul message to “hang in there” you will reach your goals in time… be patient but be persistent…
Anyway that’s what it means to me this morning…
Let me know what it means to you ok?
Lookout Towers
Song # 95 | October 1987 |
Grateful silence fills the holy start of day
No need to think of something clever to say
You build your peace in your own honest way
Is there a song you’d like me to play?
Refrain:
Lookout towers twisting to the ground
They fall so slowly, without a sound
I never thought that I could be so bold…
I found my diamonds in the road.
What if visionaries didn’t wait so long?
What if God revealed herself only in songs?
I love the way you always speak your mind
You are the essence of our times.
Refrain:
Captured feeling glistens like the dew
Lean back no into the days of your youth
Remember how you searched in vain for the truth?
It has since been given to you.
Refrain:
And when the towers seemed too steep to climb
And you felt so weary, deaf, dumb and blind?
Yet you still believed in what you hoped you would find
And you reached that place in time
Refrain:
