About This Song: (lyrics below)
In Western culture, whether you are a Christian or not, you can’t help but be affected by the powerful story of a poor family who have to have their baby in a stable because all the rooms are full at the inn. And despite the poverty and low status of birth, this kid is actually a King.
Divinely ordained to change the world.
We’ve all been unconsciously affected by the story of the virgin birth, the Shepherds and the Wise Men.
I think it’s a great story. I think it is healing and powerful and magical and mystical and wonderful in many, many ways. I definitely prefer it to the glitz and pressure to buy, buy, buy that has come to dominate the Christmas season. Ultimately it’s about LOVE, not presents, not stuff, not office parties where everybody gets drunk.
This song is for those of us who seek something deeper and more meaningful in life than what the media shoves down our throats every December. Peace!

Song #437 | 12/4/2011 | CD Fire Before The Flame
Key of D
D C G F C
Out in the darkness a child is born
D C G F C
Is he who we expected or something more?
D C G F C
His father is a dreamer his mother is poor
D C G F C
Tell me what you seek as you peek around the stable door…
Refrain:
D A G
Shine, Shine Shine
Out in the distance a star ignites
Even in the daytime you can see its light
Could this be a sign of the end of times?
Or just an invitation to change your mind?
Refrain:
Back in the beginning was the word
Breaking through the silence to be heard
Can you hear it now? Can you turn it up?
You know the Word is “Love.” Come and fill your cup
Refrain:
