To be honest with you I’m not quite sure what the hell this song is about! Freedom? Present moment awareness? Whatever. It sure feels good to sing it! :o) What do YOU think it’s about?

Edge of Time

Song #99 | March 1988 |  CD: Coming soon!

Time is hope and Time is power
Time is something we can’t live without
I was very young when I was first told
Time is something that makes you old
Time is something that makes you old

Caution cannot save a soul from death
I can smell your weakness on your breath
The world turns on into the night
Without a thought for our human plight (repeat)
Without a thought for our human plight

Refrain:
Have you ever seen the wind?
Have you seen tall buildings bend?
What do you lose? What do you find?
When you live on the edge of Time?

When you live on the edge of Time?

Mountains rise and mountains fall
David answers Goliath’s call
Desert wind leans touching down
Essence captured in a thistle down
Essence captured in a thistle down

Refrain:

Bridge:
The way your light comes down it carries me
And leads my heart into your silent sea
It’s so hopeful I can finally see
I can’t explain just why I feel so free
I know someday it will come back to me
It’s so hopeful I can finally see…
It’s so hopeful I can finally see…

Build your buildings on the rock
Get your saxophone out of hock
Tonight we dance as if tomorrow we die
Tomorrow we continue to learn to fly…
Tomorrow we continue to learn to fly…

Refrain:

You have put a grown man in tears…

Mark, this song and message really hit home for me today. You have put a grown man in tears. Thank You for what you do. Sometimes I think you sound kind of cheesy, and then others, I think you are a genius, and I’m beginning to realize that you actually care about helping people. So hard to “get out of your own way” sometimes…thanks for the reminder.

Jeremy

Hi Mark, I just had to tell you this. I emailed my 3 granddaughters the song you wrote who are sisters with the youngest being 11 years old, has cerebral palsy and is very smart, is able to talk, very funny, uses a computer, is able to write, now is learning to play drums, emails me ‘Thanks. I do.’ I loved the song and listened to it 3 times.

For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love…

Dear Mark, THANK YOU for sending *Spark & Flame*!!!! This CD certainly is a compilation of Conscious Love Songs! As I listen I am transported to memory after memory past, present and future, fulfilled and unfulfilled. I was flooded with many different emotions. I cried, laughed, held my breath and also breathed deep heart-centered breaths of connection to the Divine. I feel joy, grief, sadness, compassion, love, awe, freedom, kindness, gratitude and appreciation. For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love, releasing, acceptance for what was, what is and who I am. Knowing that I am enough and that I am Divinely Loved.
