Sometimes things just don’t work out in love and it’s no-one’s “fault” or “failing”.
It seems to me that the pain in love usually comes from clinging to the idea that it “should” work out. What if we could love fiercely and let go at the same time?

I Can’t Pretend To Love You
Song #384 | September 2008 | CD: Ocean of Dreams
I can’t pretend to love you
Even though I truly care
I can’t pretend to love you
So take a deep breath of the autumn air
And let it go…Let it go…
I wish that I could be
Who you wanted me to be
But that would have been a lie
And we both agreed on honesty
So let it go…Let it go… let it go…
I know you’re out there somewhere hurting
And I wish I could take the pain away
But every time I tried to do that
I ended up hurting you anyway
Let it go… Let it go..
You know tonight I’d like to call you
We were so good on the phone
Just to find out if you made it
Safely back to your home
But I’ve got to let it go… Let it go..
Everything in love’s a gamble
Without the risk there’s no reward
We can try hard not to stumble
Or we can do our best to move towards
Who we truly want to become
Let it go.. Let it go.. Let it go.. Let it go.. Let it go..
