About this song (Lyrics Below)
For me this song is all about accepting the invitation to personal healing and transformation that is offered every single day by a benevolent Universe. Most of the time we are too busy, too distracted, too hurt, too “this or that” to actually “Step in off the street and have a seat…”
This was originally inspired by the Unity Church in Albany’s Maundy Thursday foot washing service… but I think it has some universal messages that we all need to be reminded of from time to time. Enjoy! – Mark
Wash My Heart
Song # 445 | 3/30/2012 | CD: The Fire Before The Flame
Refrain:
Wash my heart feed my soul
Teach me to love so I can be whole
Break the Bread. Pour the wine
Open up my questioning Mind
Step in off the street and have a seat
I will wash away the dust and heat
Leave your troubles at the door my friend
Welcome home you are at journey’s end…
Refrain:
Come inside where you are safe and warm
Together we can weather any storm
Love the shadows til they blaze with light
Dance your dreams until you lift in flight
Refrain:
“I am that I am,” whispers All That Is
You are just as much a part of this
Each wave is separate yet it’s all the sea
You are you … and yet you’re also Me…
Tuning: DADGAD capo 2nd fret (key of E)
