398 Caramel Macchiato

32283963_sEver stand online at a Starbucks and attempt to actually comprehend what people are ordering?

This song got a Java jolt of inspiration when I heard someone order a “Grande Raspeberry Soy Dirty Extra Dry Chai”

The day before I had had a brainstorm with gifted playwright Jill Jayson about doing a musical which we were going to call, “Starbucks: The Musical”. It turns out someone else already had the same Idea (but ours would have been better).

As part of my research for this I spent a lot of time “on location” in the New Haven CT Starbucks… When I moved to Albany I even got a job at Starbucks so I could understand it from the other side of the counter… You’ll get to hear some of those songs in upcoming posts… I like this song because it’s very different melodically from what I’d ever done… so perhaps instead of drinking a cup of coffee you can listen to this song.. or maybe you can listen while drinking… good luck getting the words out!

Don’t worry about the time commitment. It’s short. er… “Tall”.

Caramel Macchiato
Song # 398 | June 2009

Caramel Macchiato. Breve Latte
Skim milk cappuccino. Have a Nice day!
Grande with whip chocolate chip Frappuccino
Raspberry soy dirty extra dry chai
All I want is just a simple cup of coffee to go!

When did everything get so complciated
Just to have a drink that caffeinated?
Everybody seems so opinionated
About the perfect drink and how it’s stated

mmmmm mmmm mmmm mmm
la dah dah
Nah nah nah…

Caramel Macchiato. Breve Latte
Skim milk cappuccino. Have a Nice day!
Grande with whip chocolate chip Frappuccino
Raspberry soy dirty extra dry chai
All I want is just a simple cup of coffee to go!

You have put a grown man in tears…

Mark, this song and message really hit home for me today. You have put a grown man in tears. Thank You for what you do. Sometimes I think you sound kind of cheesy, and then others, I think you are a genius, and I’m beginning to realize that you actually care about helping people. So hard to “get out of your own way” sometimes…thanks for the reminder.

For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love…

Dear Mark, THANK YOU for sending *Spark & Flame*!!!! This CD certainly is a compilation of Conscious Love Songs! As I listen I am transported to memory after memory past, present and future, fulfilled and unfulfilled. I was flooded with many different emotions. I cried, laughed, held my breath and also breathed deep heart-centered breaths of connection to the Divine. I feel joy, grief, sadness, compassion, love, awe, freedom, kindness, gratitude and appreciation. For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love, releasing, acceptance for what was, what is and who I am. Knowing that I am enough and that I am Divinely Loved.
