192 Give Me The Strength

7430820_s1993 was quite the year… The year EVERYTHING fell apart…

and the year EVERYTHING came together in a way that was BETTER than I could possibly imagine…

Someday, I’ll tell you the whole story… but today?

Check out this song… which I sing acapella accompanied by drumming on my legs… It’s a bit of a rough take and the melody wavered a bit… But THIS song probably saved my life… because it literally started to sink in to my unconscious mind that there was HOPE… And this song marks a shift in my thinking that continues to grow in power every single day…

Hopefully this song can be of use to you in some small way today.

Eventually it will be a full gospel choir singing this baby… blowing out the doors of churches and other community gathering spaces all around the world with hope and determination to rebuild and heal our lives, our communities, our soil, our Earth…

Have a great day!!!

Give Me The Strength

Song #192 | 8/29/1993 | CD: tbd

Give me the strength I need
So that I can rise up from where I’ve fallen
Give me the strength I need to carry on (oh to carry on!)
Give me the strength I need
So that I can honor my true calling
Give me the strength I need
To sing my song
(To sing my song)

Give me the hope I need
So that I can rise up from where I’ve fallen
Give me the hope I need to carry on (oh to carry on!)
Give me the hope I need
So that I can honor my true calling
Give me the hope I need
To sing my song
(To sing my song)

Give me the Love I need
So that I can rise up from where I’ve fallen
Give me the Love I need to carry on (oh to carry on!)
Give me the Love I need
So that I can honor my true calling
Give me the Love I need
To sing my song
(To sing my song)

Bridge:
I may be down But I am not out
As long as I can find the breath to shout
Give me the strength, give hope, give me love, give me faith…

Give me the Faith I need
So that I can joyfully greet every morning
Give me the Faith I need To carry on (oh to carry on!)
Give me the Faith I need
So that I can shed this cloak of mourning
Give me the Faith I need to laugh loud and long
(Laugh loud and long!)

Give me the strength I need
So that I can rise up from where I’ve fallen
Give me the strength I need to carry on (oh to carry on!)
Give me the strength I need
So that I can honor my true calling
Give me the strength I need
To sing my song
(To sing my song)

[Optional verses:] Give me the Love I need
So that I can joyfully greet every morning
Give me the Love I need To be strong (oh to be so strong!)
Give me the Love I need
So that I can shed this cloak of mourning
Give me the love I need to laugh loud and long
(To Laugh loud and long!)

I have been up and I’ have been down
I have been lost and I’ve been found
And I believe that my feet walk holy ground
Give the the strength and the courage
Giv me the love, the hope and the urge
To be who I really and and to be who I truly can be…
