About this song:

This song started it’s life “live on camera” as a free form, stream of consciousness hypnosis song inspired by my Mind Mastery Message from day 4 of 90 day Transformation challenge #4, “Be Your Own Parent.”.

How can we be intentionally kind to ourselves without indulging in excuses and wishful thinking… How can we love ourselves and still challenge ourselves to constantly become better?

It quickly began to shift and change form but still seems to deliver the same message, “Stop Beating yourself Up”… start communicating with your deep mind in a way that heals and sustains you… The metaphor of “Deep Water” seems to be the focus of the song… There is so much to “us” that is below our conscious awareness. When we dive in to our unconscious we can begin to notice the deep structure of how we create whatever this thing is we call “reality.”

Thanks for checking this out!

– Mark

Song # 528 Version 1: “Be Your Own Parent” 1/12/2017
you gotta be your own parent
no body gonna do it for you

You got to be the person that you love…

Leave yourself alone
give yourself a chance
Leave yourself alone
It’s time to be gentle… and fierce…

be gentle and fierce with yourself
it’s the only way to go
you gotta treat yourself like diamonds
and treat yourself like gold
it’s the only way you can get home…

We’re all fragile and fierce and seething inside
We wonder why we came here and we break our own pride
inside…

We’re broken and abundant
We’re silly and insecure
We’re who we think we used to be and who we think we really are but
We’re no longer who we used to be…

Version 2: “Deep Water” 1/13/17
Stop beating yourself up
Stop tearing yourself down
Stop looking outside yourself for answers

Stop thinking like the poor
Start focusing on more
On everything you have to offer…
to offer… the world

Turn away, turn away
turn away from the past
turn away, turn away
turn away from the past

Look ahead, look ahead
Look to where your line is cast

Look ahead, look ahead
Look to where your line is cast

In Deep water
in Deep water…

Some reviews & testimonials

You have put a grown man in tears…

Mark, this song and message really hit home for me today. You have put a grown man in tears. Thank You for what you do. Sometimes I think you sound kind of cheesy, and then others, I think you are a genius, and I’m beginning to realize that you actually care about helping people. So hard to “get out of your own way” sometimes…thanks for the reminder.

Jeremy

For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love…

Dear Mark, THANK YOU for sending *Spark & Flame*!!!! This CD certainly is a compilation of Conscious Love Songs! As I listen I am transported to memory after memory past, present and future, fulfilled and unfulfilled. I was flooded with many different emotions. I cried, laughed, held my breath and also breathed deep heart-centered breaths of connection to the Divine. I feel joy, grief, sadness, compassion, love, awe, freedom, kindness, gratitude and appreciation. For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love, releasing, acceptance for what was, what is and who I am. Knowing that I am enough and that I am Divinely Loved.

Been singing the chorus since the first day I heard it…

I sh*t you not when I say I’ve been singing the chorus to Honest Rock since the first day I heard it. I sing this every single day. Many times a day. Seriously. It’s like a mantra to me. It soothes me:-)
