I’m Grateful (Live with The Rogue Mystics) #458

Gratitude changes everythingAbout This Song: (Lyrics Below)
I’ve said this before in other places but I’m a gonna say it again here. Gratitude is a powerful Mind Mastery tool NOT because “it’s nice to be grateful”…

Not because it’s “spiritual” although many spiritual traditions preach gratitude (usually before they pass the offering plate :o).

Those are all fine.

However gratitude is so powerful because focusing on what you are grateful for literally changes your body’s bio chemistry by directing the focus of your unconscious mind. When you focus on how incredible you are, what incredible luck you’ve had merely to be alive right now how healthy you are even if you have some physical challenge, how rich you are even when you aren’t sure how you’re going to make your bills this month, etc…

…it literally, physically pulls you out of victim thinking and the negative toxic bio chemistry that victim thinking triggers.

Back in early 2009 when I was squatting in a soon to be foreclosed upon apartment in the creepy, crime filled part of town, I forced myself to focus on the fact that I had a place to stay, hot and cold water, a cooler for my food (the fridge died), and a fenced in yard with a fierce (but friendly to me) German Shepherd protecting me from thieves and thugs.

And focusing on WHAT WAS GOOD helped me pull my head out of my ass and move forward with my mission in life… All of that eventually led me here. And as thanksgiving looms with all the “black friday” hype and mass media hypnosis around the holidaze, I am deeply grateful not only for all of my “failures” and successes, but for the fact that I have YOU out there in cyber space listening to my music.

Thank you. I deeply, deeply appreciate you and your beautiful ears. Thank you for listening and sharing my stuff.

Peace and groovyness!

– Mark

I Am Grateful

Song # 459 11/15/2012 | CD: Home Across The Sea

I am grateful for the people who challenge me to grow
And for all the friends who I may not yet know
I am grateful for the lessons that I thought were mistakes
That looking back were really very lucky breaks

Refrain:
I am grateful. I am grateful. I am grateful for You
I am grateful. I am grateful. I am grateful for You

I am grateful for the food upon my table
and the water that enables me to stay strong and able
I am grateful for the people who wrote the books I read
That helped me through my days and nourished me like bread

Refrain:

I am grateful for these times, which may not be the best
But they surely aren’t the worst and I look forward to the rest
I am grateful for the air which we all must share
And gravity as well, even all the times I fell

Refrain:

I am grateful for the love I feel within this place
And the hope that I still have for the human race
I’m grateful for the days that I may still have to grace
My beloved Mother Earth with the sun upon my face

Refrain:

Some reviews & testimonials

Brilliant!

Brilliant! I LOVE seeing the words to all these beloved songs, thanks!

Mary F.

For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love…

Dear Mark, THANK YOU for sending *Spark & Flame*!!!! This CD certainly is a compilation of Conscious Love Songs! As I listen I am transported to memory after memory past, present and future, fulfilled and unfulfilled. I was flooded with many different emotions. I cried, laughed, held my breath and also breathed deep heart-centered breaths of connection to the Divine. I feel joy, grief, sadness, compassion, love, awe, freedom, kindness, gratitude and appreciation. For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love, releasing, acceptance for what was, what is and who I am. Knowing that I am enough and that I am Divinely Loved.

Been singing the chorus since the first day I heard it…

I sh*t you not when I say I’ve been singing the chorus to Honest Rock since the first day I heard it. I sing this every single day. Many times a day. Seriously. It’s like a mantra to me. It soothes me:-)

You have put a grown man in tears…

Mark, this song and message really hit home for me today. You have put a grown man in tears. Thank You for what you do. Sometimes I think you sound kind of cheesy, and then others, I think you are a genius, and I’m beginning to realize that you actually care about helping people. So hard to “get out of your own way” sometimes…thanks for the reminder.
