Flow Through Me (song 453)

June 1, 2021 · 2021 MUSIC VIDEOS, A Life In Song, inspirational songs, Life In Song 2010's, music video, Songs About Water, Spiritual Songs, Videos

If you’ve ever experienced something called “flow” when things just happened at the right time in the right way in the right place better than you could have possibly imagined, you might enjoy song #453… “Flow Through Me”

Or, if you’ve never experienced that state, you might NEED this song to get stuck in your head for a while… and let it flow through you!

Video: when you watch this video on Youtube be sure to give it a thumbs up! ok? thanks!

Audio: When you buy this track it SUPPORTS this project and makes my day! Thank you!!!!

About this song:

I started recording this one back in APRIL… and now it’s JUNE…

Am I a “slacker?”

Maybe. But Keep in mind it’s a song about FLOW (ALLOWING rather than FORCING :o).

I’ve also been a bit busy with planting, chipping brush, and getting ready for PIGS…

But while I’ve been doing mah chores… THIS song has been literally flowing through my mind, body and spirit. “Earworms” are fun that way. No internet or electrical connections needed. Wherever I go I’ve got a full music station broadcasting in my brain…

While it’s a little daunting to think of all the OTHER songs that I “wasgonna” record after this one… they just had to pick a number and wait in line. Working on this and then setting it aside, then working on it some more, then setting it aside again, revealed a process that I think is healthy in creative and spiritual endeavors as well as gardening.

My mom used to have a refrigerator magnet that said, “God’s delays are not God’s denials…”

It’s a PROCESS!

Plant the seed. Make sure it’s watered. Let it germinate. Let it begin to grow.
Come back and check on it.
Fertilize it.
Transplant it to a larger pot.
water it.
fertilize it.
prune it.
transplant it to a larger pot or into a garden bed.
water it.
fertilize it.
prune it.
water it.
fertilize it.
prune it. (repeat as necessary)

…and when it’s perfectly RIPE…Harvest it. Today, THIS song is “ripe!”

Sometimes when it looks like nothing is happening (above ground) a LOT is happening “beneath the surfaces of things…”

I’m especially proud of my electric guitar duet in the solo section but it took several attempts over the course of several weeks and a lot of practice just to get the first part down… and then the second part took even longer…

2 months… for one song. And now it’s time to share it with you.

Thank you for your patience and your persistent support.

Please help me get this stuff out by clicking the link, then liking, commenting, and sharing on youtube!

Thanks!

Lyrics:

Flow Through Me

9/13/2012 | Song #453 by Mark Shepard (Note: i can’t seem to make the chords stay where they’re supposed to be so you’re gonna have to “feel” the changes)

C       G C G
I allow the Light to refract off of the surfaces of things
C       G       D
I allow the Light to penetrate my heart (and cause me to sing)
Cmaj7
And flow through me

Refrain:
G      GaddC D
Flow through me
Cmaj7 G
Flow through me
G     GaddC D
Flow through me
Cmaj7 G  GaddC  G
Flow through me

I allow the Love to heal me from the inside out
I allow the Love to turn a whisper into a mighty shout
And flow through me…

refrain:

I allow the strength to empower me
I allow the strength to set me free
And flow through me

refrain:

Bridge:
D G
Water over the dam
GaddC D
Under the bridge
CMaj7
Straight from the Source… (repeat)
G add C
Straight from the Source…

I allow my mind to release control
I allow my heart to receive the signals from Home (loud and clear)
And let them flow through me

Refrain: (repeat ad lib)

You have put a grown man in tears…

Mark, this song and message really hit home for me today. You have put a grown man in tears. Thank You for what you do. Sometimes I think you sound kind of cheesy, and then others, I think you are a genius, and I’m beginning to realize that you actually care about helping people. So hard to “get out of your own way” sometimes…thanks for the reminder.

Jeremy

For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love…

Dear Mark, THANK YOU for sending *Spark & Flame*!!!! This CD certainly is a compilation of Conscious Love Songs! As I listen I am transported to memory after memory past, present and future, fulfilled and unfulfilled. I was flooded with many different emotions. I cried, laughed, held my breath and also breathed deep heart-centered breaths of connection to the Divine. I feel joy, grief, sadness, compassion, love, awe, freedom, kindness, gratitude and appreciation. For me these songs are transformational lessons in self-love, releasing, acceptance for what was, what is and who I am. Knowing that I am enough and that I am Divinely Loved.
